AI safety & community standards

Responsible creation, AI transparency, prohibited content, rights reporting and moderation in Paperwhales.

Updated 16 October 2026

AI is part of the experience

Paperwhales uses AI to help generate songs and writing. Generated voices, characters and statements are not evidence that a real person spoke or endorsed something. Outputs can be wrong, biased, repetitive or similar to existing work. Review content before sharing it; do not use it as medical, legal, financial or emergency advice.

These standards describe expected conduct and moderation, not a guarantee that every harmful output is detected. Automated systems and human review can make mistakes.

Create responsibly

Use original or lawfully licensed source material. Do not request close copies of protected songs, deceptive real-person impersonation or unauthorized voice cloning. Attribute human source material where appropriate, and make AI involvement clear when presenting generated content outside the site. Attribution does not replace permission.

Never submit child sexual exploitation material, sexual content involving minors, credible threats, instructions facilitating serious harm, targeted harassment, hateful abuse, fraud, private personal data or malware. Do not use the city to recruit for violence, manipulate users deceptively or evade safety restrictions.

Public creation and personal safety

Assume a finished public song and its words may appear in the city and in a Paperwhales radio or live broadcast. Keep private information out of public prompts and lyrics. Obtain permission before recording another person's face, voice or private communications.

Camera and microphone controls are separate from music creation and should remain off unless you choose to use them. Stop sharing when you no longer want to be seen or heard. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services, not this platform.

Reports, moderation and review

Report harmful content, impersonation, rights infringements or security issues through Contact & reporting. Include a creation or page link, a concise explanation and only the minimum information needed. Do not repost illegal material or publicly reveal an exploit or private data.

Administrators may review reports and relevant private queue or account records, remove content, pause posting or restrict abusive accounts. Where appropriate and lawful, request a review by identifying the decision and why you believe it was wrong. Reports are assessed in context; we do not promise immediate review or universal pre-screening.

Transparency and platform obligations

Paperwhales broadcasts contain AI-generated or AI-assisted music. Applicable platform disclosure, labeling and rights rules remain relevant to every external publication. Publishing this policy does not certify that all technical watermarking, disclosure or regulatory obligations have been implemented.
